The Women’s Leadership Institute (WLI) desire to encourage, equip and educate women for exemplary Christian leadership in the many vocations women serve. A servant institute of Concordia University Wisconsin, WLI is tasked with increasing Lutheran and Christian influence in the community in order to fulfill unmet needs among students, professionals and lay leaders in the church and the world. For the past three years WLI has been hard at work increasing our reach through Christian Leadership workshops, panels, national and regional conferences, Speakers Bureaus, and most recently a new website to enhance our social media presence and the launch of our WLI Online Academy (www.wlicuw.org/wliacademy.)
We would like to invite the Indiana LCMS District to attend WLI’s upcoming National Conference, Gifted to Influence, September 29 – Oct 1, 2017. Gifted to Influence is based on 1 Peter 4:7-11, a great passage about serving Christ with your gifts in a complex world. Hundreds of women will grow in skill and confidence by developing the gifts God has given them through interactive workshops centered on the themes of Character, Confidence, Connection, and Communication. Engaging Bible studies, stories of women who serve with courage, and opportunities to grow with other women of faith are just some of the reasons to support this conference.
We are also hosting a pre-conference Friday event entitled Pressure Points for both men and women in the workplace as well as local university students. This event will focus on four topics that can be a point of struggle for Christian professionals: Leveraging Christ-Like Leadership in the Secular World; Identity and Work; Conflict Management in the Workplace; and Bringing your Whole Self to Work.
