Synod has a wonderful resource called the Locator, which you can find in a dropdown at the top of their website (lcms.org). For those of you not familiar with the Locator, it is a very useful site where you can search for churches, schools, workers, and districts. For the church and school searches, there is a “use my location” option or enter a specific address (such as your child’s college address or the address where you will be vacationing or moving to, etc) that will create a map and list for you in a radius of 1-50 miles. It is a wonderful tool to help you find contact information on people and places within the LCMS.
For those of you familiar with the Locator, you will notice a change next time you visit. You will still have access to great information (and it looks even better!), but when locating a church worker, you will now need to choose a method to log in. This has been adjusted in order to help reduce scamming. Session search limits have been implemented to help thwart bots and data scraping attempts. Still an amazing resource, just a few helpful tweaks!
