The election of the next President of the LCMS has gone to the third ballot, ahead of the July National Convention. The balloting continues until one candidate receives a majority of the votes cast. Candidates on that third ballot are …
- Rev. Dr. Matthew C. Harrison
- Rev. Dr. Joel D. Biermann
- Rev. Benjamin T. Ball
All congregations and parishes of Synod were to register a pastoral and a lay voter by the registration deadline of March 8. Unfortunately, we have a much smaller percentage of our congregations register and get involved in the process than we would like, as it is best to have all our churches be actively involved. Those who DID register by the deadline received information on how to submit their electronic votes for these rounds. If you think that you are registered but are having difficulty accessing the voting information, email LCMSpresidentVote@lcms.org. Please note that district offices do not have any information on who is registered or not, nor do they have access to login credentials for the vote.
This third round of voting runs June 20-23. If a candidate does not receive a majority of the votes at the close of the voting window, a final ballot will be required. That fourth round of voting will run June 27-30.
