District President Administrative Assistant Job Description:
The Indiana District is searching for an administrative assistant to the District President. After 40 years of faithful and dedicated service, Jan Koenig plans to retire in December of 2021, after providing training and transition assistance to her successor. The District President will also assist in this training. The District President’s administrative assistant works in the President’s office of the Indiana District in Fort Wayne, IN and reports directly to the Indiana District President. Administrative Assistant to the Indiana District President duties and responsibilities include providing administrative support to ensure efficient operation of the office of the Indiana District President. This individual supports the District President and other district employees through a variety of tasks and skills related to organization and communication, including the following: 1) responsible for confidential and time sensitive material; 2) must be familiar with the Synod’s Constitution and Bylaws as well as the Indiana District’s Articles of Incorporation, bylaws, practices, and procedures; 3) ability to communicate effectively via phone, mail, e-mail, video-conference, and other electronic means, ensuring that all Administrative Assistant duties are completed accurately and delivered with high quality and in a timely manner; 4) may, at the discretion and direction of the District President, direct, lead, and/or coordinate the work of others; 5) rely on training, experience, and judgment to plan and accomplish goals; and 6) exercise a wide degree of problem-solving creativity and latitude in accomplishing tasks.
