Free Faith-Based Resources Available on the Topic of Mental Wellness

Published on August 25th, 2020

The Lutheran Foundation has assembled a variety of materials specifically with church workers in mind, including Worship and Bible study materials, youth leader resources, church worker self-care resources, and links to a variety of national organizations that offer specialized resources for providing mental health support. These are accessible under the “Faith Resources—Church Resources” tab. Here is a direct link: https://lookupindiana.org/leading-the-way/guide-for-faith-leaders.

They also created a congregational Mental Health Toolkit with a variety of resources to address the topic of mental wellness within the church, such as sermons, Bible studies, prayers, bulletin and social media announcements, recommended hymns and contemporary songs, suggested books for book clubs or ministry teams, etc. Here is a direct link for the Toolkit: https://big.nyc3.cdn.digitaloceanspaces.com/lookup/general/Look-Up-Mental-Health-Toolkit_FNL.pdf?mtime=20200427173854&focal=none

Furthermore, under the Faith Resources tab on Look Up, there are a collection of faith-based articles, podcasts, and videos on the topics of anxiety, depression, substance use, and suicide. Please share these resources with those in your congregation and community who may receive extra encouragement, hope, and comfort from them, especially during this extended time of COVID-19 challenges.
