Just a reminder that the Indiana District keeps an updated list of men willing to help cover as Pulpit Supply. You can contact the District Office at 260.423.1511 to request a list, or email Lisa at lisa.slack@in.lcms.org. The Pulpit Supply listing is organized by city and includes some information on willingness to travel a distance on occasion, those who are willing to consider longer-term help, and those who are willing to help with making home and/or hospital visits, etc.
Also available are the District’s recommendations for Pulpit Supply compensation. These are not required amounts, but numbers offered as general idea for appropriate compensation for this work. You can find updated information any time through the District’s website under the FINANCE tab / SALARY GUIDELINES, then scroll to about the middle of that page (Click here for a direct link). - Presiding, no sermon: $50
- Preaching, 1 service: $125
- Presiding and preaching: $175
- Additional Services: $75
- Bible Study / Presentation: $75 / hour
- Mileage: IRS rate (currently .67/mile)
- Lodging and meals paid, if overnight stay is deemed necessary
