“Ah, Sovereign Lord, you have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and outstretched arm. Nothing is too hard for you.” Jeremiah 32:17
I am sure more than once that you have felt that you have taken all that life has thrown at you. You just can’t take anymore. Whatever the circumstances, events, or happenings of the day, the challenges simply bring us down and seem to overwhelm us.
You are not alone. Other colleagues and students face similar challenges, struggles, and heartaches too. And maybe we do not even realize that others around us are experiencing even more serious challenges brought upon by health or family hardships. How do we cope? How do they cope? How do we help others to cope?
The answer is not found in what we can do or would try to do. The answer or remedy is surely not found by commiserating with one another. The answer is not found in blaming others even though this is tempting to do, or blaming God.
Peace and comfort come only when turning to God in prayer and when turning to God’s Word for guidance. Just as God provided for the Israelites, Moses, Aaron, Joshua, Esther and others of past years, He, too, will provide for you and me. He already has!
We already know that we are redeemed and restored through Jesus. We have His precious body and blood to feast on for strength of faith and comfort. During difficult or pleasant days, direct one another and students back to the Cross of Jesus Christ! And remember, in all circumstances, give thanks and praise to God and for the gift of His Son, Jesus. Only Jesus can bring peace and calm to one’s heart.
