Summer at the Indiana District: Whoosh!
Perhaps your summer might be characterized by the playful poem, Here Comes, by Shel Silverstein:
Here comes summer, here comes summer, chirping robin, budding rose.
Here comes summer, here comes summer, gentle showers, summer clothes.
Here comes summer, here comes summer—Whoosh—school—there it goes!
In truth, I inserted “school” in the place of Shel’s original “shiver,” taking license to convey the sweeping activities of teachers from across the District this summer, in preparation for the start of school. While you basked in the delights of summer, teachers completed the first phase of the Indiana District Curriculum initiative in Social Studies. Captured on video, if a picture is worth a thousand words, then this 2-minute clip will multiply the industry of our teachers by a thousand! Enjoy! Whoosh!
