Concordia Lutheran High School seeks a qualified candidate to serve as the Head of School. The Head of School is the Chief Executive of the Concordia Educational Association Inc. d/b/a Concordia Lutheran High School, overseeing all aspects of the organization’s operations as outlined in its Strategic Plan. The position is for an immediate opening.
Concordia Lutheran High School has an 85-year tradition of quality, Christ-centered educational excellence in Fort Wayne, Indiana. With an enrollment of 621 students and nearly 10,000 alumni, Concordia seeks to be the best faith-based high school in the area. Concordia maintains accreditation with the State of Indiana, Cognia, and National Lutheran Schools.
The Head of School is a Called position. Candidates should appear on the roster of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod (LCMS) or be willing to go through a course of study to achieve such status. The candidate must possess a master’s degree in areas related to organizational leadership, business, education and/or theology. Strong planning, administrative, supervisory, analytical, organizational, accountability, conflict management, and oral and written communications skills are necessary.
The Head of School is responsible for a sound financial plan, supporting the recruitment and retention of 100-plus employees, supporting Development and fundraising efforts, and working with Lutheran churches, schools, and other community partners to further Concordia’s presence in the community, including the recruitment and retention of the school’s 9th through 12th grade students.
The Head of School reports directly to the Board of Directors and is responsible for keeping them informed and supported in their work.
