Trinity Lutheran Darmstadt presents a hymn festival “Guided by a Glorious Light,” celebrating the installation of its new Rodgers 3 manual organ. The event will include organ music by J.S. Bach and Maurice Duruflé, festive settings for brass, tympani, and percussion, and most importantly, hymns old and new. Following the festival will be a reception in the new parish hall.

Randall Sensmeier is a native son of Trinity Lutheran, Darmstadt, where he also attended elementary school. He has a B.Ed. and Masters in Church Music from Concordia University, Chicago, Illinois. Currently, he is Artist in Residence and Organist at San Marcos Lutheran Church in San Marcos, California. Mr. Sensmeier has also been an editor at GIA Publications, Inc. since 1990, where he develops and edits hymn texts and tunes. Mr. Sensmeier is the composer of over one hundred published works, including choral octavos, keyboard and instrumental works, and a collection of hymn tunes. His parish music ministry of fifty years includes twenty-one years as a teacher in Lutheran elementary schools, and he is Cantor Emeritus of Saint Luke Lutheran Church in Chicago.
