Katie Retreat 2027

January 29, 2027 - January 31, 2027

Named after Martin Luther’s beloved wife, the annual Katie Retreat is meant to uplift, encourage, and connect women from all across the Indiana District who have served, do serve, or will serve in the incredibly special role of being pastors’ wives.

All pastors’ wives and widows, as well as wives of current seminarians/vicars, are encouraged to join with your fellow “Katies” for this time of fellowship, encouragement, and relaxation.

The 2027 Katie Retreat will be held January 29-31, at the Our Lady of Fatima Retreat Center in Indianapolis.
This year’s keynote speaker will be Michelle Diercks, speaking on “Finding Rest When Forgiveness Is Hard And Messy.”

Keynote Speaker

Michelle Diercks and her husband live in Iowa surrounded by cornfields. God has blessed them with two amazing sons who are now young men building their own lives. She is learning to navigate this empty nest season and parent their boys from afar.
Michelle has studied and taught God’s Word for over 30 years and has a passion for helping women find peace in God’s promises through every season of life – whether it is the busyness of raising children, the transition of an empty nest, or any of life’s unexpected changes. Michelle desires to walk alongside women as they discover the peace, rest, and hope found in God’s presence. She is the author of “Promised Rest: Finding Peace in God’s Presence” and “Promised Hope: Finding Peace in God’s Faithfulness.” As well as leading women’s retreats, she is a Bible teacher, author, podcast host, and Christian Life Coach.

Breakout Session Options

The Richness of Forgiveness
Forgiveness is foundational to our Christian faith and our relationships with others. To grow in understanding of what forgiveness is and what it looks like affects so many aspects of our lives. This break-out session will look at resources available from Ambassadors of Reconciliation, an LCMS Recognized Service Organization. Harriet Armstrong of Columbus, IN will share resources that can be used within the church and the home.

Counseling Sessions
Christian Therapist Tamera Perry will again donate brief counseling time slots. Tamera graduated with her master’s degree in social work and is a therapist at her own private practice, Capturing Hope Counseling, in Indianapolis. She specializes in anxiety, depression, women’s issues, high-functioning autism (Asperger’s Syndrome) and ADHD. She enjoys speaking to women’s groups through Stonecroft Ministries, and assisting with the outreach program at her church. She has been married for 31 years to her childhood sweetheart and has raised three boisterous boys (now young men).
