More federal money is available for school technology in two programs, at huge savings for your school budget.
1 ERate pays for connectivity. There are two categories to this: Category 1 pays for the actual internet service, Category 2 pays for the hardware (firewalls, switches, wireless access points, cabling) needed to get the internet connection to computers.
2 The Emergency Connectivity Fund “will cover reasonable costs of laptop and tablet computers; Wi-Fi hotspots; modems; routers; and broadband connectivity purchases for off-campus use by students, school staff, and library patrons.”
If you are interested in learning more, contact Kevin or Aaron, and the District will arrange a zoom with David Sexauer, a tech consultant we know. Often the service providers ignore smaller schools, however, there are ways to group schools into a consortium to attract the attention of providers.
