For 75 years, the Christ Child Festival has shared a message that has never changed: the hope of Jesus Christ.Since its beginning in 1951, the festival’s locations and activities have evolved, but its purpose remains the same. As one longtime supporter put it, “The heart of it is the message of Christ and why He came.” The festival continues to remind families that Christmas is about far more than presents beneath a tree. It is the story of the hope God gave the world through Jesus Christ.
This year is especially significant as the Christ Child Festival celebrates its 75th anniversary and becomes part of Fort Wayne’s downtown Christmas celebration, creating an extraordinary opportunity to share that message with thousands of people.
This milestone would not be possible without the volunteers, donors, churches, community partners, and families who have supported the festival’s mission over the decades. Their generosity has helped ensure that generation after generation can experience the true meaning of Christmas.
As the festival looks ahead to the next 75 years, community members are invited to be part of its continued impact by volunteering or making a financial gift. Opportunities include welcoming families, assisting with activities, helping with setup, and serving in many other meaningful roles.
