Changes in Renewing an Indiana State Teaching License

Published on July 8th, 2016

In order to renew an Indiana State Teaching license, teachers need to accumulate 90 Professional Growth Points in a five-year period.  Those points are recorded in a Professional Growth Plan found on LVIS – the licensing site of the State of Indiana.

CHANGE – you no longer have to attach documentation to verify your points on the LVIS site.  Instead, gather your certificates in one place and when you reach 90 points, scan them and email to the Indiana District Office (amy.mews@in.lcms.org) or fax them “Attention Amy” at 260-423-1514.

If you have questions on renewing your license, the Indiana District Education Office can answer most questions.  The state has the final say on any license applications.
