Catechisms Needed in Liberia

About 60 children and their parents from Lutheran schools in Liberia were baptized on Sunday, October 30, 2022, the day they celebrated Reformation.  These 15 schools are all part of the Liberian Children’s Ministry started in 2004 under the direction of Joe Boway of Fort Wayne, Indiana.  In less than 20 years, this ministry of Lutheran schools has grown to over 6000 students.

In these rural schools, the students learn about our Lord and Savior because of prayers and support from individuals and groups throughout the Indiana District.  The students not only learn of Jesus’ love and salvation but then tell their families of this good news.

Joe Boway’s goal for 2023, is to provide Luther’s Small Catechisms for 5,000 students.  Do you have extras from your or your children’s confirmation years?  Does your church?  Ask your pastor to create a collection site.  It won’t cost you anything but a little time.  The catechisms must be in English and can be old or new.  Contact Joe Boway at 260-409-8006 or bowayj@aol.com for questions and details as to where to take the catechisms.
