“Congress passed and the President signed into law the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES Act) with the purpose of providing small businesses needed funds to survive the current economic situation in the country. One aspect of this act involves what is titled the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP). The program provides entities, including religious organizations, the opportunity to apply for Small Business Administration (SBA) loans that could be forgiven either in part or in full as long as the funds borrowed are used on appropriate expenditures.”
