Bethesda Writes Devotional Guides

Published on September 12th, 2016

In honor of National Direct Support Professional (DSP) Recognition Week (September 12-16), Bethesda Lutheran Communities wrote and distributed a devotional prayer guide to thousands of Bethesda’s DSPs across the country, including those who serve within our Indiana District.

Bethesda believes so strongly in their mission to help people with disabilities know the good news of Jesus Christ, their most important, front-line employees have been given a very real way to bring the word of God into their workplace and their homes.

Bethesda is blessed to have a steadfast and dedicated network of DSPs whose mission is to help people with intellectual and developmental disabilities live the lives they want. DSPs provide meaningful work and their career choice is often inspired by faith. While supporting people with disabilities is rewarding, it is also challenging. Bethesda hand-picked Scripture and then developed several prayers based on each passage to encourage, sustain and help our DSPs feel connected with God, their coworkers, the people they support and their families during the work day.
