A Lutheran Theology of Education

This past November, I gathered together a group of pastors, school administrators, and other Lutheran educators to begin a conversation about Lutheran education, specifically what it is that makes our Lutheran schools Lutheran. To facilitate that goal, as a catalyst for what I hope to be an ongoing exploration and discussion, I enlisted Rev. Dr. Geoffrey Boyle, one of our Seminary professors, to present a Lutheran theology of education. Rev. Anthony Dodgers, Headmaster of Bethlehem Lutheran School in Ossian, as well as our Indiana District Education Executive, Mr. Nathan Wingfield, also shared some helpful points and observations for consideration. Though we were not able to secure a video recording of this “Lutheran Education Convocation,” we did obtain an audio recording, which is available (accompanied by some photos of the gathering) on our District website HERE.
