The mailing to members confirming their 2017 health plan options is scheduled to go out on 12/1/16. Everyone enrolled in one of the CHP options will also receive flyers regarding new programs that will go in effect 1/1/2017.
Enhancement – Omada for all Health Options:
The Omada Prevent program is a 16-week online program for members who are at risk of developing diabetes and/or cardiovascular disease. It is a voluntary program. CHP members are encouraged to participate so they can take steps to avoid the risks of chronic disease.
As of 1/1/2017 it will apply to all BCBS options, not just to the Choice options as previously announced. Here is a link to a video that describes the Omada online program. More details will be coming in January.
Change in Long-term Prescription Drugs – “Smart90” Program for all Health Options:
Effective 1/1/2017, members who take a maintenance medication to treat an ongoing health condition must purchase their medications in a 90-day supply either through Express Scripts Pharmacy home delivery or at their local Walgreens pharmacy after three 30-day refills. After three 30-day fills, if members do not obtain the 90-day fill, they will be required to pay 100% of the prescription cost.
Members who are currently taking maintenance medications and do not utilize home delivery will receive additional, personalized information from Express Scripts about the program and how to make the switch to either home delivery or their local Walgreens to obtain a 90-day supply.
Clear Savings Consumerism Tool:
As of 1/1/2017, this tool will be available only to members who are enrolled in a high-deductible option, HDHP or one of the Choice options. Since utilization has been very low, this should not negatively impact members in Options A-E. More detailed information will follow from our Communications Department.
